Key Instant Recall Facts (KiRFs)
Key Instant Recall Facts (KIRFs) are a core part of our maths curriculum at Treales. They focus on helping children develop rapid recall of key mathematical facts, such as number bonds, times tables, fractions, decimals and key concepts linked to their year group.
Each child progresses through a structured set of KIRF levels across the school. These facts are designed to be practised little and often, helping children to build confidence, fluency and accuracy in maths.
Children are assessed each term to monitor their progress through the levels. When a child successfully moves on to the next level, they are celebrated with a certificate, recognising their hard work and achievement.
Families play an important role in supporting KIRFs at home. Each level includes simple ideas and games to help make practising quick, enjoyable and manageable.
