National Numeracy Schools & Families Programme
We are delighted to be taking part in the Schools & Families Programme with National Numeracy.
National Numeracy - Charity Empowering the UK with Numbers
This programme encourages children and families to enjoy maths together at home through short, practical activities linked to everyday life.
What is Family Maths?
Family Maths helps children:
build confidence and positive attitudes towards maths
see how maths is used in real life
talk about maths in a relaxed, pressure-free way
No special equipment or maths knowledge is needed — just curiosity and conversation.
Family Maths Scrapbooks
Every child has been given a Family Maths scrapbook to record activities completed at home. This might include drawings, photos, number work or explanations.
Scrapbooks are returned to school each Thursday
They are sent home on Fridays with new activities
Parent Information Evening
Parents and carers are invited to a Family Maths Information Evening on Monday 3rd February.
This session will explain how the programme works and give families the chance to ask questions.
Further details will be shared via our parent messaging app.
Working Together
We encourage all families to get involved. There is no expectation to complete every activity — small, regular maths conversations at home can make a big difference.
If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher.
